- This minimizes injuries and lost time, helping lower costs for our customers and achieving our bottom line.
- Our Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIP) is below industry averages, and our goal is ALWAYS zero injury incidents.
- To accomplish this, R.G. Smith’s Safety Division is comprised of (3) personnel who are solely dedicated to safety, education, and compliance.
- The safety division combined experience totaling to over 40 years.
- Our Division Manager and Field Safety Manager conduct regular site audits/ inspections AND conduct and coordinate training for our workforce.
- Our safety administrator works in house to process and assure accuracy on claims, keeping related records and documentation on par, and processing related pre-qualifications and third party registration up to date.
- Regular training covers a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:
- Customer site specific training
- Quarterly supervisor safety updates
- OSHA 10 & 30 hour programs
- First Aid/ CPR/ AED training
- Confined space entrant/ attendant
- Fall prevention/ fall protection
- Competent person excavation/ trenching
- Competent person scaffold erection
- Crane signaling
- Proper PPE usage
- Respirator Fit Testing
